Oman Takes Part in Global Digital Cooperation Meetings in Kuwait

Oman Highlights Digital Cooperation at DCO Meetings in Kuwait

Kuwait:  The Sultanate of Oman is participating in the 5th General Assembly of the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO) and the 2nd International Digital Cooperation Forum, which are being held concurrently in the State of Kuwait, with the participation of representatives from more than 60 countries worldwide. The meetings commenced today.

Oman’s delegation is headed by Dr. Ali bin Amer Al Shidhani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology for Communications and Information Technology.

Held under the theme “Inclusive Prosperity in the Age of Artificial Intelligence (AI)”, the International Digital Cooperation Forum aligns with the DCO’s efforts to enhance international cooperation and ensure that countries and societies benefit equitably from the digital revolution.

During the forum, participants are discussing ways to harness artificial intelligence and advanced digital technologies to achieve sustainable and inclusive economic growth, reduce the digital divide among countries, and promote the ethical and responsible use of technology.

The meetings also address the establishment of clear governance frameworks for artificial intelligence, balancing support for innovation with the protection of societies from digital risks such as misinformation and cyber threats.

In addition, participants are examining the impact of automation on labour markets and exploring how the outcomes of the General Assembly could contribute to shaping new global digital policies that foster innovation and expand opportunities for economic growth in the AI era.
