Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman is taking part in the annual regional meetings of the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA), which is held in Doha from 22 to 28 January 2023.
Oman is represented at the meetings by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources. The meetings are organized by the Ministry of Municipality in the State of Qatar.
The meetings focus on two main projects, titled “Developing Palm Production Systems in GCC States” and “Improving Agricultural Production Systems in the Arabian Peninsula in the Backdrop of Climate Change”.
The discussions will evolve around applied research, the transfer of modern technologies and capacity building in the field of production systems of palm trees, controlled environment agriculture (CEA) and irrigated fodder.
