Oman Takes part in International Conference on Fisheries

Riyadh (ONA): A delegation from the Sultanate of Oman is taking part in the International Conference and Exhibition on fisheries, held in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Oman’s delegation is headed by Eng. Yaqoub Khalfan Al Busaidi, Undersecretary for Fisheries.

The participation in the conference comes within the framework of Oman’s keenness in developing the fisheries filed being an economic sector that is vital within Oman Vision 2040, as well as for its economic and social importance.

The event is considered an opportunity to get familiar with regional and international approachers in enhancing fishing, fish farming and value-added fish industries.

The conference sees the participation of representatives from 29 countries. It also includes 6 sessions, with 50 local and international speakers. Moreover, 70 international and local exhibitors are taking part in the event, including 7 Omani companies operating in various related areas.

The sultanate of Oman’s delegation comprises several companies from the Oman Investment Authority (OIA), Oman chamber of commerce and industry (OCCI) and private companies.
