Oman takes part in Meeting on Implementation of UN Convention Against Corruption

Vienna: Represented by the State Audit Institution (SAI), the Sultanate of Oman is currently taking part in the 14th session of the Working Group on Review of the Implementation of the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC), held at the UN headquarters in Vienna.

The meeting is looking into mechanisms of implementation of the UNCAC, including ways to exchange information, practices and experiences gained in the process so far. It is also following up the outcomes of the UN General Assembly’s special session on challenges posed to such measures and means of consolidating international cooperation.

The meeting will focus on decisions of the Conference of the States Parties (COSP) on practices and initiatives undertaken to combat corruption. It will also elaborate on means of enhancing the role of supreme audit institutions in the field of preventing and combating corruption, the lessons learned and the existing challenges as part of steps to review the effectiveness of anti-corruption measures and policies. – ONA
