Muscat: Oman to end night lockdown from Saturday 21 August

In the statement Oman news agency said: Within the framework of the high directives of His Majesty the Sultan, may God protect and preserve him, to take appropriate measures to deal with the Corona pandemic in the coming period.. The Supreme Committee decided to end the decision to close commercial activities and prevent the movement of individuals and vehicles starting from the evening of Saturday, August 21 , 2021.

The committee decides to adopt the general framework for operating schools in the Sultanate during the 2021/2022 school year, according to the mechanism that will be announced by the Ministry of Education, with emphasis on the need to adhere to the application of all precautionary measures contained in the health protocol.

The committee took the following two decisions, which will come into effect on Wednesday, September 1, 

First: To endorse the principle of vaccination as a condition for entry to all government units and private sector establishments, including malls, restaurants and other commercial activities as well as venues hosting cultural and sports events and other group events, and heads of government and private units must take the necessary measures to implement these controls.

Second: To enter the Sultanate from all land, sea and air ports, it is required to receive (Two doses vaccination mandatory for people aged 18 years and above) and to undergo a PCR test before or upon arrival in the Sultanate. Those who got infected with virus must undergo a 7-day quarantine and redo the PCR test on the 8th day.

The Committee stresses, in order to protect the gains that made so far, the Supreme Committee urges all people to continue to all precautionary measures established by the competent authorities, the most important of which are wearing a mask and social distancing, whether in places of residence, work and public places- and never to let their guard down.
