Oman to mark World Civil Defence Day 2024 on March 1


Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Civil Defense and Ambulance Authority will mark the World Civil Defence Day on March 1 of every year, in implementation of the resolutions of the International Organization for Civil Defence in order to commemorate this occasion internationally, regionally and locally, and in appreciation of the efforts made Efforts made by civil defence agencies In various countries of the world.

This year’s celebration comes under the slogan (The Role of Civil Defense in Sustainable Development) due to the importance of the role of civil defense agencies in protecting lives and property, achieving public safety, reducing risks and minimizing their effects, and working to implement measures and procedures related to civil defense and ambulance work.

Celebrating World Civil Defense Day is an opportunity to spread and enhance preventive awareness among all segments of society to reduce risks associated with the security and safety of lives and property, through television and radio programs, newspaper articles, holding seminars and lectures, in addition to distributing awareness-raising publications and posters in public places and roads.

This year, the Civil Defense and Ambulance Authority has prepared a series of awareness programs targeting all segments of society, including events, activities, and field visits to rehabilitation centers for the disabled, hospitals, airports, ports, service provision stations in some government institutions, and other places targeted by the public.

During the period from 6 to 7 May next, the Authority will organize the “Oman Civil Defense and Ambulance Conference and Exhibition” in its second edition, in addition to holding two awareness exhibitions in the governorates of Dhofar and Buraimi, and training about (5,000) community members on security, safety, and first aid programs.
