Muscat: The Authority for Public Services Regulation announced, in a statement, that it followed with great interest what was circulated on social media platforms regarding the increase in the value of electricity bills during the past summer months, and what was raised regarding that.
At the request of the Council of Ministers, the Authority for Public Services Regulation (APSR) decided to raise the previously set reduction rate on electricity bills for the “residential category” from 15 percent to 30 percent of the total bill value for all subscribers with basic accounts and national support accounts for the months of July and August 2023.
The Authority will conduct a comprehensive review of the electricity sector costs in a way that does not affect the quality of service provision and find alternatives and sustainable solutions to address the high value of electricity bills during the summer months in the coming years.
