Oman and Türkiye Hold Political Talks in Ankara

Ankara:  The foreign ministries of the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Türkiye today held a session of political talks in the Turkish capital, Ankara.

The Omani side was headed by Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs, while the Turkish side was headed by Musa Kulaklıkaya, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

During the session, the two sides discussed means of enhancing bilateral cooperation in the political, diplomatic, economic and cultural fields.

The discussions also addressed the establishment of the Omani-Turkish Coordination Council with the aim of strengthening coordination and consultation between the two countries and enhancing partnerships in the commercial, economic, investment, health and tourism sectors in a manner that serves mutual interests and supports development efforts in both countries.

The two sides further reviewed developments in the region and discussed regional and international issues of common concern.

They underscored the importance of de-escalation and resolving crises through dialogue and diplomatic means to support regional and international stability.

The session was attended by Munther Mahfoudh Al Mantheri, Head of the Europe Department at the Foreign Ministry, Saif Rashid Al Jahwari, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Republic of Türkiye, and several officials from both sides.
