Oman Vision 2040 follow-up Unit, UNDP Discuss Aspects of Cooperation

New York: Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit held a meeting with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) during which it reviewed a number of initiatives and projects related to government services improvement and other aspects of development.

The meeting touched on the tasks undertaken by Omani authorities concerned towards the implementation of Oman Vision 2040 programmes. It dealt with two main projects: “Invest in Oman” project, which will be a one-stop-shop for investors, and a project titled “National Suggestions and Complaints Digital Platform”.

Sheikh Hilal Abdullah Al Hinai, Director General of Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit’s Department of Quality and Government Excellence, said “All parties work in harmony to implement this vision.” He added that the preparatory stage was based on basic principles, including the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.

Khalida Bouzar, Assistant Secretary-General and Director of the Regional Bureau of Arab States at UNDP, affirmed UNDP’s readiness to cooperate with Oman in developing a system of quality management and government excellence in services provided to citizens and foreign investors alike. She lauded the “good levels” attained in Oman in the field of human development.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Mohammed Awad Al Hassan, Permanent Representative of Oman to the United Nations. – ONA
