Muscat: The Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit held a meeting with the Chairman and members of the Board of Directors of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Khamis bin Saif Al-Jabri, Head of the Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit, in the context of discussing developments and integrating roles in order to achieve the goals of the vision.
The focus was on the economy and development axis, discussing the priority of the private sector, investment and international cooperation, the priority of economic diversification and financial sustainability, the required capabilities needed by the business sector in the Sultanate of Oman, and aspects of cooperation and partnership between the two sides.
During the meeting, Dr. Munther bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Deputy Head of the Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit, gave a visual presentation on Oman Vision 2040 in which he reviewed the themes and priorities of the vision and highlighted the efforts made and the role of the unit in supporting and following up on implementation.
Representatives of the national programs also reviewed the programs and the efforts made in them, as presentations were made for the National Program for Investment and Export Development “Nizhar”, the National Program for Financial Sustainability and Financial Sector Development “Estidama”, the National Program for Economic Diversification “Tashweeh”, and the National Employment Program “Tasheel”.
During the meeting, aspects of cooperation between the two sides and integration with the government’s efforts in this direction were discussed, and the importance of empowering the private sector to lead a competitive economy integrated with the global economy was discussed. Through these meetings, the unit aims to enhance awareness of Oman Vision 2040 in all sectors and introduce everyone’s roles in achieving the vision, which contributes to enhancing the advancement of the targeted sectors and speeding up the completion of initiatives and projects emanating from them.
