Oman Water Week Conference kicks off  today

Muscat: As many as 500 participants, among them 60 speakers and representatives of 30 local and international companies, are taking part in Oman Water Week, which kicked off today at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Oman Water Week seeks to set an agenda for addressing water challenges in the Sultanate of Oman, build local competencies and transfer knowledge and expertise.

The event also explores the latest technologies and innovations in the water sector with the prime aim of providing sustainable solutions to water challenges, raising environmental awareness and devising a roadmap for sustainable development in Oman.

The topics on the agenda include water policies and strategies, circular economy, operational efficiency, sustainable technologies in the water sector, digital transition and the applications of artificial intelligence.

An exhibition to be held on the sidelines of the water week will showcase the latest innovations and technologies and provide the participants, experts and specialists with an opportunity to exchange knowledge and help shape the future of water use.

The opening ceremony was held under the auspices of Dr. Saud Hamoud Al Habsi, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources.
