Muscat: Damaged electricity network effected by thunderstorm has been repaired in some areas

In a statement The Public Services Regulatory Authority said that it is following up the work carried out by the electricity companies and their technical teams to restore electricity to the areas affected by the thunderstorm that affected some of the states of the North and South Al Batinah governorates.

The authority added in the statement – that as a result of the efforts made by all concerned authorities, a large proportion of the damaged networks have been repaired, however, restoring the current in some areas may require a longer time, given the severe damage caused to some parts electrical network.

“While the authority appreciates the impact of these outages on the valued subscribers in the affected areas, it is confident that companies will make every effort to restore the electrical current as soon as possible in a way that guarantees the safety of subscribers and workers in the sector.”  said Public Services Regulatory Authority.

“The authority will continue to follow up the progress of work until the electrical current is reconnected to all subscribers.” added in the statement @apsr_om.
