Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman has welcomed the decision of the government of the United States of America to resume its membership in the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) with effect from July 2023.
In a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry, Oman expressed appreciation for the United States’ move, noting that it reaffirms the country’s commitment to international cooperation in the fields of education, science and culture.
The decision also reflects the United States’ support for the UNESCO in its mission to promote peace, sustainable development, world cultural heritage, dialogue among nations and the exchange of global knowledge and expertise, the statement said. -ONA
