Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman has welcomed the agreement signed in Muscat regarding the exchange of prisoners in the Republic of Yemen, expressing its appreciation for the positive spirit that prevailed throughout the negotiations, which were held from 9 to 23 December.
In a statement, Oman commended the cooperation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as the efforts exerted by the Office of the United Nations Special Envoy for Yemen, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and all parties involved in the negotiations.
The Sultanate noted that these collective efforts contributed to the successful conclusion of this important humanitarian agreement, expressing hope that it will help create conducive conditions for addressing other outstanding issues related to the situation in Yemen and support efforts aimed at achieving stability and alleviating humanitarian suffering.
