Wheat Harvest Kicks Off in South A’Sharqiyah with Government Support

Sur: Wheat harvesting operations have commenced in the wilayats of Al Kamil wa Al Wafi, Sur and Ja’alan Bani Bu Hassan in South A’Sharqiyah Governorate for the 2025–2026 agricultural season.

Ali bin Salim Al Hashmi, Director of the Agriculture and Water Resources Department in the Wilayat of Al Kamil wa Al Wafi, stated that the total cultivated wheat area in the governorate has reached 41 feddans, with an expected production exceeding 50 tonnes, depending on seed varieties.

He explained that the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources continues to support farmers by providing technical and advisory services, promoting best agricultural practices, and supplying improved seeds and modern equipment to enhance productivity and ensure crop quality.

He added that the Ministry has also facilitated harvesting operations through the provision of modern machinery, contributing to faster and more efficient harvesting processes, while maintaining high standards of hygiene and supporting agricultural sustainability.
