Oman to host the ICESCO Education Ministers Conference in October

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman will host the ISESCO Conference of Ministers of Education in the Islamic World on October 2-3 under the theme “Post-Summit: Transforming Education from Obligations to Applications”.

The conference, which is organized by the Ministry of Education in cooperation with the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), is attended by more than (32) their Excellencies, a number of their Excellencies and Undersecretaries, heads of delegations of ministries of education and experts from member states of ICESCO, in addition to the participation of a number of representatives of United Nations organizations and agencies, international and regional organizations concerned with the education sector, and a number of decision-makers, academics and experts in this field.

The conference aims to emphasize the commitment of the member states of the organization to transform education, discuss successful mechanisms and practices in this field, encourage countries to build partnerships and exchange experiences among themselves in the field of programs aimed at accelerating the process of transforming education, and develop appropriate mechanisms to ensure its follow-up.

The conference focuses on a number of topics, including transforming education in the Islamic world, greening education, the role of artificial intelligence and digital transformation in accelerating education transformation, and education in times of crises and emergencies.
