Oman wins 30 medals in Special Olympics World Games

Berlin: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Omani Special Olympics, concluded its participation in the Special Olympics World Games “Berlin 2023”, crowned with 30 medals distributed among 7 gold medals, 8 silver medals and 15 bronze medals.

Mohammed bin Salem Al-Rashdi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Special Olympics Oman and head of the delegation that participated in the tournament, expressed his pride and happiness with the achievements of the champions and their winning a large number of medals, indicating that the results of many competitions were not expected, but were achieved through the efforts of the Omani Special Olympics champions.

In a statement to Oman News Agency, he indicated that the delegation’s participation in the tournament went through many different stages, which included the host cities program, the grand opening ceremony, and the actual participation in various competitions, stressing the success of participating in the tournament despite the difficulties and challenges.

He added that this participation contributed to introducing a large segment of people to the efforts of the Omani Special Olympics to put the name of the Sultanate of Oman in international forums.
