Oman wins ‘Fastest Growing Tourism’ award in India Travel Awards North 2023

Muscat: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism won the award for the fastest growing entity in the tourism sector, as part of the “Indian Travel Awards 2023”, which was held in Delhi, Republic of India.

The Sultanate of Oman recorded a growth in the number of visitors from India in the period from January to May 2023, compared to the previous year, with the arrival of 234,509 visitors from the Republic of India to the Sultanate of Oman.

The award was received by Asma bint Salem Al Hajariya, Assistant Director General of Tourism Promotion at the Directorate General of Tourism Promotion at the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, as part of her leadership of the Ministry’s delegation participating in the promotional workshops organized by the Ministry in the Republic of India, which will last from 24 to 31 July 2023, moving in four Indian cities, namely: (Delhi, Jaipur, Kolkata, and Mumbai).

Asma Al-Hujaria said that receiving the award represents an achievement for the Sultanate of Oman, which reflects the development witnessed by the tourism sector and the promotional efforts made by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism to attract tourists from different countries of the world, explaining that this honor is a motivation towards continuing efforts to highlight the Sultanate of Oman as a distinguished tourist destination in the markets. global in general.

On the other hand, the Ministry continues promotional workshops in India, where specialists in the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism held a series of meetings with a group of heads of major tourism sector companies, travel and tourism agents and tour operators with the aim of enhancing the attraction of tourists from all parts of the Indian Republic, and discussing aspects of cooperation to attract segments Targeting and promoting attractive tourism patterns in the Sultanate of Oman, and communicating with partners in the promising tourism exporting markets that the ministry targets as part of its tourism promotional strategy, by informing them of the developments in the tourism sector in the Sultanate of Oman, as well as identifying their proposals to enhance incoming tourism.
