

Muscat: The Sultanate, represented by the Omani Society for Photography at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, won the honorary award and fifth place in the 20 Biennial of Nature Photography for Printed Pictures in Russia, which is held by the International Federation of Photograpic Art “FIAP” every two years at the level of its member states.

Each member state shares ten photos of ten photographers, each photographer has one picture, and the association has participated in the biennial of the members of the photographers, namely Hassan Al-Ghailani, Ayman Al-Balushi, Shazhan Al-Siyabi, Abdel-Rahman Al-Hinai, Abdel-Rahman Al-Aghbry, and Abdullah Al-Hadrami And the Fyab artists are Haytham Al-Shanfari, Anas Al-Deeb, Muhammad Al-Zadjali, and Qassem Al-Farsi, as trees were the main focus of all the pictures he participated in.
30 member states of the federation participated in the biennale, Italy topped the first place with a total of 181 points and won the World Cup in the nature photography axis, ahead of South Africa by two points, while Russia ranked third with 174 points, Britain ranked fourth with 172 points, and Ireland In sixth place with 154 points, then Belgium is in seventh place with 153 points, Serbia is in eighth place with 152 points, Germany is in ninth place with 146 points, and Spain is in last tenth place with 142 points.
The Sultanate, represented by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, is keen to participate in the photography biennials organized by the Federation every two years, and in recent years it has won advanced positions and various medals for its photographers, which made the Sultanate, with its young photographers, obtain a distinguished position on the map of the art of photography in the world.
The biennial in the field of photography is defined as a kind of international art exhibitions held every two years in a country that is a member of the International Federation of Photographic Art “FIAP” in which the works of the member states are displayed, where each country participates with ten pictures under a specific theme, and at the end of each biennial the organizing committee selects the winning countries. In addition to the individual works winners, they are awarded medals and honorary awards.
