Oman, World Bank Discuss Economic Diversification and Vision 2040

Muscat;  The Ministry of Economy today held a meeting with a delegation from the World Bank Group led by Wendy Werner, Country Manager for the Sultanate of Oman, to discuss avenues of technical cooperation in several sectors.

The meeting, held at the Ministry’s headquarters, was attended by Dr. Munther Hilal Al Busaidi, Head of the Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit at the Ministry of Economy.

Discussions focused on areas of mutual interest, including economic diversification efforts and labour market developments in the Sultanate of Oman.

The two sides also reviewed mechanisms for aligning initiatives to achieve mutual added value, in addition to examining economic performance indicators under the Tenth Five-Year Plan and progress in implementing programmes related to Oman Vision 2040.

At the end of the meeting, both parties stressed the importance of continuing technical coordination and agreed to hold further meetings to discuss operational aspects and frameworks for joint cooperation.
