Muscat: Omani fisherman Nabil Al-Wahaibi managed to catch a giant fish that weighed more than 100 kg.
Nabil Al-Wahaibi said that he was able to catch it yesterday, Saturday, during his weekly trip to the sea, in an area about 15 kilometers from the Sidab shore.
Al-Wahaibi confirmed that the weight of the fish reached 104 kilograms, and is the largest so far this season. It was caught by hand thread, and it took about an hour and 40 minutes to pull it, and it was sold for more than 130 Omani riyals in the Muttrah fish market.
Al-Wahaibi indicated that the season of bass fishing was delayed this year to mid-January, which usually begins in December of each year. He also mentioned that it is possible to catch bass with a weight of 110-120 kg.
It is worth noting that the sailor Nabil Al-Wahaibi practiced fishing before joining his government job in 2015 AD; But the passion for the profession made him continue to go out on holidays and practice it with one of his friends.
