    Oman passport holders can now travel to 90 countries visa-free

    Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman passport rose to the  60th rank in 2024 in world’s most powerful passports ranking, according to the London-based Henley Passport Index, a worldwide ranking that assesses the visa-free access of 199 passports to 227 travel destinations.

    According to the index released on Thursday, individuals holding a Oman passport can visit 90 destinations without the need for a visa.

    Omani passport holder now enjoy access to five additional destinations compared to last year’s 85 places with visa-free entry. The country held the 68th place in the rankings in 2022, according to the index.

    The Sultanate of Oman currently shared the 60th spot with Jamaica and Nauru

    Henley Passport Index (HPI) is based on data from the International Air Transport Association which assessed 199 passports in the World.

    The passports of France, Italy, Japan, and Singapore were classified as the strongest passports in the world, while the passports of Afghanistan and Syria were classified as the weakest.
