Mubarak bin Khamis Al-Hamdani said that there is no doubt that the subject (social protection policies) and its system is one of the files on which the new development model of the Sultanate of Oman is based, and that in reality social policy cannot be separated from the rest of the other components of public policy such as economic policies, labor market policies, and others.
He believed that the current effort to establish an integrated legislative, institutional and systemic framework for social protection will allow public policy makers in the Sultanate of Oman to make clearer and more accurate choices, stressing the importance of the social protection system, as it will undoubtedly help first in forming an integrated database on the conditions of society in The Sultanate of Oman, and this is an important entry point for drawing up social policies and understanding the nature of societal structure, especially in terms of income and entitlement to aid and benefits.

Salem bin Ali Al Harthy said that the social protection system is an important pillar for any society that aims to ensure the well-being and security of its citizens and includes a wide range of policies, programs and initiatives designed to protect individuals and societies from various risks and vulnerabilities, such as disease, disability, old age, and others.
In the same context, Madreen Bint Khamis Al Maktoum said that the social protection system comes at a defining stage in the history of the Sultanate of Oman, as it will eliminate some of the challenges that were facing many initiatives aimed at serving the Omani citizen, and among its benefits that will directly benefit the citizen and resident.
She added that the system includes (the savings program), even if it is optional for Omanis, and combines several advantages, including the possibility of planning additional benefits upon retirement, or scheduling benefits for several years preceding the retirement age specified in the law.
She stated that the system also includes two programmes, the first is called the “Social Insurance for Job Security Risks” program and will cover the insured in cases of termination of service for reasons beyond the control of the insured, and the second program is “Social Insurance for Maternity Leaves” and takes into account the period of childbirth and lactation, and aims to cover the income of working women under a symbiotic social insurance system to enhance social protection for the family.
Mohammed bin Hassan Al-Ansi explained that the new social protection system will achieve stability in the lives of citizens, and will work to equalize opportunities among them, which will establish an integrated social protection system for everyone, adding that the social protection system is in line with the “Oman Vision 2040” related to the human and society axis, which is within Its priorities are well-being and social protection, and it will provide adequate, fair and adequate social coverage for various groups of society from childhood to old age, in addition to cases of disability.
Mustafa bin Ahmed Salman explained that the social protection system will unify benefits for all citizens, whether working in the public or private sectors, noting that the system has created new features for retirees to benefit greatly from, which will support the stability and well-being of society.
Wafa bint Hammoud Al-Ghassani indicated that the social protection system is comprehensive for all segments of society, which includes all unified societal data in order to work on cash benefits programs and social insurance programs for the elderly, children, orphans, widows, lower-income families, and elderly retirees.
She added that the system offers unified retirement programs for all sectors in the labor market, whether governmental or private, covering the retirement stage, risks of death and disability, work injuries and occupational diseases, with clear entitlement terms and unified provisions, as this system is a distinguished qualitative leap, and is an extension of the continuous interest in the social dimension. in the Sultanate of Oman.
