Omani citizens start receiving SPF payment

Oman’s SPF begins sending payments

Muscat: On Thursday, January 18, 2024. Nearly 1.5 million Omani citizens received text messages indicating that they had received the social protection benefit as Oman begins disbursing a monthly benefit from social protection funds to the following categories:

Children: RO 10, Elderly: RO 115, People with disabilities: RO 130, Orphans and widows: RO 80.

This benefit under the wise leadership of His Majesty the Sultan to his people to provide them with care and support, promote social solidarity, achieve social and economic stability in society.

These messages that were received on Thursday brought joy to our children and youth, Omani citizen Salem Al Shehhi said via the hashtag “Social Protection Fund,” which topped the list of the most popular topics on the X platform a few hours after depositing the benefit: “It is not a matter of amounts, but of the gesture and care that His Majesty the Sultan grants it to all segments of society.”

Hamad Al-Sawai said in the same tag, “A pioneering and successful step in correcting the course so that the Fund can carry out important pivotal roles and tasks for great, integrated humanitarian goals as a protective shield in alleviating the burden of the harsh painful living conditions that have harshly affected citizens in the trinity of (raising subsidies, taxes, inflation).”

Salem Al-Araimi thanked His Majesty the Sultan, saying: My sincere thanks and gratitude to our Lord, Sultan Haitham bin Tarik the Great – may allah protect and preserve him – for his keenness and great interest in disbursing financial benefits to the elderly and children. “This step reflects a wise vision and true care.”

On behalf of all citizens, Yousef Al Qasimi extended his great thanks to our Sultan, saying: “He who does not thank people does not thank God. On behalf of all the children, fathers and mothers of Oman and those with special needs, many thanks to Sultan Haitham bin Tariq the Great – may God protect him and take care of him – (the benefits that were approved) It was disbursed from the Social Protection Fund, which will undoubtedly have a good impact… with the hope that other benefits will follow later,)

Muhammad Al-Maashani described the joy of citizens and their reactions when they received the text messages this morning: “In the morning, I went to a café… to have coffee, and after a few minutes of sitting down, text messages arrived from Bank Muscat carrying good news of the drop in the social protection benefit. The young people contacted their mothers and fathers, giving them the good news of the drop in their salaries.” In their calculations, may God protect the great Sultan Haitham.”
