Omani Culinary Arts forum this week

Muscat: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism (MHT) is preparing to launch a program for food and culinary arts tourism with the aim to develop food and culinary arts tourism as part of the Omani Tourism Strategy, which allocated space to food and culinary arts tourism for Omani cuisine as a valuable tourism product that provides authentic and innovative experiences.

Food tourism and culinary arts contribute to creating diverse job opportunities, enhancing the spirit of entrepreneurship, local content linked to supply chains, and employing local culinary arts as a living embodiment of Omani culture and heritage, which contributes to enhancing the concept of sustainability.

To introduce the program’s objectives and vision and involve all relevant parties, the Ministry intends to hold the “Omani Culinary Arts” Forum on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, to launch the program under the patronage of Her Highness Sayyida Mayan bint Shihab Al Said, and to begin implementing the strategic and promotional initiatives emanating from it in cooperation with its partners.

The program will include a set of initiatives, the most important of which are: documenting Omani cuisine, establishing the Oman Center for Culinary Arts, and creating local content opportunities in supply chains.
