Omani deaf bowling team achieves 4 medals in Russia

Moscow: The Sultanate of Oman’s bowling team for people with hearing disabilities won the silver medal in the five-a-side bowling competition at the International Championship for the Deaf held in Ufa, Russia.

The Sultanate of Oman 1 team and the Sultanate of Oman 2 team qualified for the golden square in the five-a-side bowling competition, to meet the Sultanate of Oman 1 team with its Bahraini counterpart, and beat it by two games without charge, to qualify to meet the Russian team.

In the meeting of the Sultanate of Oman 1 team with the Russian team, the latter managed to win the gold medal, so the Sultanate of Oman team won the silver, while the Sultanate of Oman team 2 from the Russian team also lost to win the silver, participating with the Bahrain team.

With these results, the Omani team participating in the Summer Games for the Deaf held by the Russian Federation for the Deaf under the slogan “We are together in sports” won 4 medals: 2 silver and 2 bronze in the categories of silver doubles, bronze triples and silver pentathlon.

It is noteworthy that the tournament, which was launched last Wednesday, was attended by 30 countries from around the world, with more than 1,500 competitors in several games.
