Beijing: A delegation from the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ) held several meetings in Beijing with a number of Chinese businesspeople from companies operating in the fields of green industries, iron, technology, modern information technology and chemicals.

The OPAZ delegation is headed by Eng. Ahmed Hassan Al Dheeb, Deputy Chairman of OPAZ.

The meetings came within the framework of attracting and localizing quality investments in Oman.

During those meetings, investment opportunities in Oman’s special economic zones, free zones and industrial cities were showcased. The country’s infrastructure and the incentives offered to investors were also highlighted.

The meetings were attended by Nasser Mohammed Al Busaidi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the People’s Republic of China.

Further, the Authority’s delegation also participated in the Omani-Chinese Investment Forum organized by the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in the People’s Republic of China to introduce the investment environment in Oman.

The agenda included visits to a number of specialized Chinese companies and factories, and viewing the experiences of Chinese companies in targeted fields.

The visit is part of OPAZ’s strategy to strengthen economic cooperation, attract international investment, create new strategic partnerships, and share technology, expertise, and experiences.

OPAZ’s delegation comprises representatives from the Special Economic Zone at Duqm (SEZAD), the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn) and “Invest Oman” lounge.
