Omani Foreign Minister meets Indian Minister of External Affairs

Riyadh: Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today met with Dr. S. Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs of the Republic of India, on the sidelines of the joint ministerial meeting between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and the Republic of India, which was held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council in Riyadh.

During the meeting, the two ministers discussed the progress of friendship and cooperation relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of India, and opportunities to open more areas of partnership between them in a way that maximizes the benefits for the two friendly peoples.

The two sides also discussed current regional security issues, stressing the need to continue joint coordination to achieve security and stability in the region, contain escalation, and support all efforts made to do so, while committing to implementing the rules of international law to establish security, peace, and justice for all.

The meeting was attended by His Highness Sayyid Faisal bin Turki Al Said, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Excellency Ambassador Sheikh Ahmed bin Hashel Al Maskari, Head of the Gulf Cooperation Council and Regional Neighbourhood Department, and a number of officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
