Omani-Iranian Joint Committee holds 20th meeting in Tehran

Tehran: The Omani-Iranian Joint Committee held its twentieth meeting today in the Iranian capital, Tehran, where the delegation of the Sultanate of Oman was headed by His Excellency Qais bin Muhammad Al-Yousef, Minister of Trade, Industry and Investment Promotion.

During the meeting, they discussed trade and investment relations between the two countries and ways to develop them in sectors of common interest, increasing intra-trade between the two friendly countries, and enhancing areas of trade and investment cooperation in priority sectors, as well as the financial, banking and health fields.

The establishment of joint industrial cities was also discussed with the aim of developing and integrating supply chains between the two friendly countries, which would contribute to providing job opportunities and promoting sustainable development in both countries.

The meeting witnessed the signing of an executive program for the memorandum of understanding in the field of specifications and standards between the two friendly countries, and the signing of a partnership agreement to establish a barrel production factory in the Sultanate of Oman.

During the visit, a memorandum of understanding for cooperation will be signed between the Arvand Free Zone and the Omani-Iranian Joint Business Council.

The visit program also includes holding bilateral meetings between major companies from both sides in the targeted sectors to discuss opportunities for cooperation and investment and facilitating doing business, and holding the Omani-Iranian Business Forum in the city of Shiraz tomorrow, Thursday, jointly organized by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture and the Iranian Council of Commerce and Industry.
