Omani narrator honored with Sharjah International Cultural Heritage Award

Sharjah: Omani narrator Abdullah bin Mubarak Al Farsi won the Best Narrators and Heritage Carriers Award for the Arab category within the activities of the Sharjah International Novel Forum in the categories of the Sharjah International Award for Cultural Heritage in its fourth session 2023.

The narrator, Abdullah Al-Farsi, expressed his happiness with this win, given that the award has cultural and literary value and its importance in creating communication between generations.

Al-Farsi explained that the art of narrators, the story of narrated history, its narration, its preservation in human memory, and its transmission from generation to generation gives the vocabulary of history and heritage its special character and true status.

It should be noted that the Sharjah International Award for Cultural Heritage, organized by the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, is an international award of appreciation with codified scientific standards, granted by the Institute to individuals, groups or projects. Its main purpose is to appreciate the efforts made in preserving, protecting, studying and ensuring the continuation of cultural heritage. It is divided into three categories: Main areas: best practices for preserving elements of cultural heritage, the best narrators (living human treasures), and the best research and studies in cultural heritage.
