Adventure Photographer Showcases Oman’s Natural Beauty to the World
Muscat: Omani adventure photographer Riyadh Al Hinai affirmed that visual content plays a key role in promoting tourism and showcasing the Sultanate of Oman’s natural diversity.
In an interview with Oman News Agency (ONA), Al Hinai said that Oman’s varied landscapes, including mountains, valleys, deserts and coastlines, provide rich opportunities for documenting adventure activities and presenting them to local and international audiences.
He explained that his journey in adventure photography began in 2014, driven by a passion for exploring natural sites and sharing their beauty through social media platforms, which received wide engagement from the public.
Al Hinai noted that this experience led to the establishment of his own tourism-related venture in 2017, contributing to the growth of adventure tourism as an emerging sector in the Sultanate of Oman.
He stressed the importance of balancing adventure with safety, pointing out that successful experiences depend on proper planning, adherence to safety standards and awareness of environmental conditions.
Al Hinai highlighted that professional adventurers require a combination of physical fitness, technical skills and decision-making ability, in addition to patience and teamwork.
He also pointed to the availability of specialised training programmes in the Sultanate of Oman that support the development of national capabilities in this field.
Regarding opportunities, he said that the sector offers potential for investment in areas such as eco-tourism, adventure parks and specialised content creation, noting that Oman’s natural environment is well suited for such initiatives.
Al Hinai added that photography serves as an effective tool for conveying the aesthetic value of destinations, contributing to forming a positive image that attracts tourists and supports the local economy.
He emphasised the need for authenticity in visual storytelling, alongside preserving the environment to ensure sustainability.
