Boston: The Omani start-up company in the environmental field, “44.01 Company” , is among the five winners of the Earthshot Award in its second edition, with the participation of more than 1,500 participants from 20 countries around the world.
The company has developed an innovative technology called “mineralization” to convert carbon dioxide into rocks, and is one of the only companies in the world that has successfully used this technology to benefit from solar energy.
The company won several regional and international awards, including the Elon Musk Award for Environmental Innovations.
The awards were presented by Prince William, Prince of Wales, at a ceremony held in Boston, USA.
The winners will be awarded a cash prize of $1.2 million to support and develop their innovative projects.
It is noteworthy that the Earthshot Prize aims to support effective mechanisms in facing global environmental challenges, and to discover new and innovative solutions to them.
