Omani Teacher’s Day on February 24

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman celebrates the Omani Teacher’s Day on Friday, which falls on 24th February every year. The celebrations come in recognition of the active role of teachers play in the education. 

The teacher is considered an inspiration and role model for our students and an essential participant in the education of successive generations to create a conscious and educated generation that contributes to carrying a noble message and great trust represented in instilling the values ​​of noble education based on tolerance and peaceful coexistence between the different segments of society and authentic Omani customs to raise the level of awareness among our students.

The total number of Omani teachers reached (58,704) male and female teachers, including (18,080) male teachers, with an Omanization rate of 71.3%, and (40,624) female teachers, with an Omanization rate of 90.6%.

A number of male and female teachers expressed to Oman News Agency their pride in devoting a day to the Omani teacher, as he is an essential partner in the educational and knowledge process, and an affirmation of his role in instilling the values ​​of citizenship and patriotism in students.
