Sharjah: The Omani Women’s Academy won the Sustainable Education Award in its second edition presented by the Regional Bureau for Educational Planning in Sharjah affiliated with UNESCO.
The academy received the award in the Outstanding Project category for its “Women Leaders Incubator” initiative, which aims to empower women in entrepreneurship through an integrated environment that supports transforming ideas into sustainable business projects.
The project represents a digital model in sustainable vocational education by providing training and professional development opportunities that contribute to achieving the fourth Sustainable Development Goal related to quality education.
The initiative also supports the development of vocational skills, promotes equal educational opportunities and enhances education linked to sustainable development.
The incubator contributes to strengthening women’s participation in the national economy in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.
The programme targets productive families, job seekers and women with disabilities seeking to establish entrepreneurial projects.
It provides practical tools, modern skills, mentoring programmes and guidance from specialists and consultants, in addition to supporting access to partnerships and funding opportunities.
The initiative also seeks to support the establishment of women-led startups capable of contributing to the local economy.
The Omani Women’s Academy is a youth initiative focused on empowering women and developing their leadership and professional capabilities through specialized training programmes and workshops.
