Muscat: Omanisation in Shopping malls and supermarkets from July : Ministry of labour
In a statement Ministry of labour said: The implementation of the decision regarding the restriction of the practice of some professions in shopping malls and supermarkets to Omanis only
The ministry of labour announces to owners of shopping malls and supermarkets to adhere to the ministerial decree no.2021/8 which will be implemented starting from July 20, 2021.
The practice of the following professions in shopping malls and supermarkets will be limited to omanis
Profession in customer service, cashier , currency exchange and administration
Shelf-stackers
The ministry urges everyone to adhere to the decision mentioned above in order to avoid penalties against violators. Work permit for the above mentioned occupations will not be renewed for non-omani workers after expiry.
