Oman’s Automobile fuel production sees 15.5% increase by end of February 2024

15.5 percent increase in automobile fuel production by the end of last February

Muscat: The production of automobile fuel by refineries and petroleum industries in the Sultanate of Oman increased by 15.5 percent by the end of February 2024 compared to the same period in 2023, according to preliminary statistics issued by the National Center for Statistics and Information.

Statistics showed that the production of regular automobile fuel (91) decreased by 16 percent at the end of February 2024, compared to an increase of premium automobile fuel (95) by 25 percent, as the production of automobile fuel (91) reached about two million and 386 thousand barrels.

While its sales amounted to two million and 231 thousand and 300 barrels, while the production of automobile fuel (95) recorded two million and 214 thousand and 600 barrels, with sales recording two million and 47 thousand and 700 barrels.

The production of gas oil (diesel) decreased by 17 percent, recording 4 million 588 thousand and 700 barrels, and its sales recorded 2 million 252 thousand and 500 barrels. Aviation fuel production also increased by 36 percent, recording 2 million 102 thousand and 600 barrels, and its sales recorded 742 thousand and 900 barrels. Gas production recorded Liquefied petroleum reached 1,409,300 barrels, while its sales reached 1,630,100 barrels.

Regarding petrochemicals, statistics show that gasoline production increased by 22 percent, recording 28,400 metric tons, while paraxylene production reached 100,100 metric tons, rising by 31 percent. Polypropylene production decreased by 6 percent, recording 38,300 metric tons, but its sales increased by 77 percent. Registered 6 thousand metric tons.

The Sultanate of Oman’s exports of automotive fuel (91) decreased by 13 percent to reach 505,800 barrels, and exports of premium automotive fuel (95) until the end of February 2024 recorded an increase of 691 percent to reach 276,900 barrels, while exports of gas oil (diesel) reached Two million 128 thousand and 200 barrels, and one million 338 thousand and 400 barrels of aviation fuel, while exports of liquefied petroleum gas amounted to 147 thousand and 600 barrels.

Paraxylene exports reached 102,400 metric tons, gasoline exports reached 25,200 metric tons, and polypropylene exports reached 25,200 metric tons.
