Oman’s CAA confirms ready to deal with measure taken to facilities travel during pandemic


Muscat: H.E Eng. Naif bin Ali Al Abri, Chairman of The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) confirms it is ready to deal with the measures taken to facilitate travel during the pandemic.

The authority maintained to ensure a gradual and safe return of regular flights in the Sultanate.

CAA focused on the following objectives during the first phase:

1, Develop and implement operational plans that meet the aviation safety and security requirements .

2,Support the national and international efforts to transport medical supplies, goods and passengers while maintaining an orderly and safe flow of air traffic in Oman’s airspace and airports

3, Adapt service providers’ operational recovery plans with the Civil Aviation legislation, rules and recommendations of the International Civil Aviation Organization.

Minimize the financial and operational impacts of the COVID-19 on airlines, then moving to the second stage which aims to achieve the following objectives:

1, Adapting the aviation health safety protocols with the recommendations of the International Civil Aviation Organization.

2, Provide an enabling environment that can enhance the return of air traffic and passengers in the Sultanate.

3, Strengthen the control over compliance with the requirements of health safety protocols at the Sultanate’s airports through the existing framework between CAA, Royal Oman Police and the Ministry of Health.
