Muscat: Several parts of Oman may witness heavy rainfall today, Saturday, May 20, 2023.
In a statement Oman Meteorology said, heavy rainfalls are expected on Saturday from 11 AM till 10 PM in the Governorates of Al Buraimi, Al Dhahirah, North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah, Al Dakhiliyah, South Al Sharqiyah, North Al Sharqiyah, South Muscat and Dhofar.
The expected impact of the weather:
1. Heavy rainfall is expected and may range between 20-45 mm, which may lead to flash wadis.
2. Poor horizontal visibility due to dust rising during rainfall.
3. Downdrafts winds (15-35) knots.
Oman Meteorology has urged people to stay away from low places and wadis and to not attempt to swim in wadis, as well as to keep an eye on children and never allow them to approach or risk crossing wadis for the sake of public safety.
