Muscat: The Civil Defense and Ambulance Authority (CDAA) confirmed its readiness to provide firefighting, rescue and ambulance services to citizens, residents and visitors of the Dhofar Governorate during the 2023 Khareef Dhofar season.
Colonel Mubarak bin Salem Al-Araimi, Director General of Operations and Training in charge of running the work of the head of the Civil Defense and Ambulance Authority, said that the authority had approved its operational plans for the Dhofar Khareef season for the year 2023 AD, as the plan included strengthening its current centers and publishing other points on the roads leading to Dhofar Governorate in each of the governorates. (Al-Dakhiliyah, Al-Dhahirah, and Al-Wusta) to deal with the communications that come to the points through the police operations center and the operations centers in the governorates.
The colonel indicated that two points have been added on the coastal road that connects the Governorate of South Al Sharqiyah with the Governorate of Al Wusta to the Dhofar Governorate, and 4 other points on the road from the Dakhiliyah and Al Dhahirah Governorates to the Dhofar Governorate in order to provide services to users of those roads.
He stressed the need for institutions, companies, real estate and building owners to adhere to the requirements of civil protection by doing the necessary maintenance for the facilities and following safety procedures and other aspects of safety that limit the occurrence of accidents, indicating that the authority’s civil protection efforts will be doubled through inspection of facilities, monitoring violations and taking appropriate measures.
The Director General of Operations and Training at the Civil Defense and Ambulance Authority stated that the authority is constantly seeking to raise the level of awareness among all segments of society by using its official platforms on social media and other media, distributing educational pamphlets, holding events and deploying field teams in various locations for awareness and guidance, appreciating the great role it plays. It uses various media in order to enhance preventive awareness among the various segments of society.
The Civil Defense and Ambulance Authority called on the visitors of the fall season to follow the safety instructions during the visit to the governorate, prepare well for the trip, maintain the vehicle, prepare a first aid bag, ensure the validity of the fire extinguisher, identify resting sites and vehicle fueling services stations on the itinerary, and choose the appropriate time for movement and stop for a rest in case of feeling Fatigue, exhaustion, and adherence to safety rules.
The authority stresses the need to follow safety instructions during residence in the Dhofar Governorate and not to swim in undesignated places such as (springs and water pools) and beaches due to high sea waves and water currents that increase in intensity with the advent of the fall season, and to stay away from dangerous sites, waterfalls, and dangerous heights, and monitor Children and not leaving them in vehicles while the guardian is out for shopping or other things, in order to preserve the safety of everyone.
