Muscat: The Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate carried out an inspection campaign for warehouses and cooking gas vehicles in the governorate’s states, after monitoring fluctuations in the prices of cooking gas cylinders.
During the campaign, 10 gas depots were inspected in Sure, Al-Kamel, Al-Wafi, Jalan Bani Bu Hassan, Jalan Bani Bu Ali and Masirah, which were extended to vehicles selling gas cylinders in those states, in order to ensure the suppliers’ commitment to the prices set by the concerned authority and not to exploit the consumer by raising Prices of gas cylinders, especially after the application of value-added tax or any other exceptional circumstances, where the inspection teams monitored some observations that alerted suppliers and warned them not to raise prices, and emphasized the need to adhere to the prices set in advance, as the authority would not hesitate to violate the non-compliant and complete the procedures legally related to them in accordance with the laws and decisions regulating this.
