Oman’s EA organizes field exercise for observers in the Ras AlShajer Nature Reserve in Qurayyat

Muscat: The Environment Agency organized the first environmental monitoring exercise targeting about 30 field observers in Muscat Governorate (the observers of the two natural reserves of Sirin and Ras Al Shajar, and the units of Muscat and Qurayyat) in the Ras Al Shajar Natural Reserve in the Wilayat of Qurayyat, and its activities will continue until March 16.

The exercise aims to raise the level of efficiency and skills of environmental observers in verifying the compliance of individuals and institutions with laws and legislative regulations to preserve the environment.

It also aims to familiarize the observers with the legal procedures in writing control reports and testimonial records, and the exchange of practical experiences between the observers in the various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, and the practical application through multiple scenarios of infringement of wildlife, and raising the efficiency of team spirit and operational planning for environmental control operations.

The field exercise in the first environmental monitoring includes legal, technical and specialized lectures, sports and other activities for self-defense, in addition to training on the use of modern technologies and surveillance drones, and open discussion sessions on various scenarios and challenges facing observers, especially environmental aggressors, with a presentation of stories and experiences in Environmental control.
