Brussels: The Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in the Kingdom of Belgium launched the “Diplomatic World” magazine in Brussels.
The inaugural ceremony was held under the auspices of SheikhKhalifa Ali AlHarthy,Undersecretaryof theForeign MinistryforPolitical Affairs. It was attended by top Belgian officials, heads of diplomatic missions, businessmen and journalists.
In a speech on the occasion, Al Harthy stressed the importance of bilateral relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Belgium.
He also commended the role of the media in consolidating ties between the two countries. He pointed out that the magazine’s articles, which cover meetings with a number of Omani officials, will help upgrade the status of Oman at the international level.
For her part, Ru’aa Issa Al Zedjali, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Kingdom of Belgium, expressed the hope that the “73rd” issue of the magazine would help establish bridges of communication and strengthen diplomatic relations between countries of the world.
The inaugural ceremony saw the display of photographs about landmark heritage and tourism sights in Oman, as well as a collection of books by Belgian writer-cum-journalist Maria Dekeersmaeker, who published a number of articles and books about Oman. – ONA
