The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, in cooperation with the Office of the Minister of State, Governor of Dhofar, Dhofar Municipality and the Small and Medium Enterprises Authority, is organizing the Empty Quarter Festival in the Wilayat of Thumrait, which coincides with the winter season that the governorate enjoys.

The festival will include many different events and activities, to start from December 23, 2021 to January 8, 2022

Khalid bin Abdullah Al Abri, Director General of the Directorate General of Heritage and Tourism in the Governorate of Dhofar, said in a statement to the Oman News Agency that the festival was established in its first edition to be among the regional festivals.

“It focuses on several main objectives, including translating the vision of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism to make the Governorate of Dhofar a sustainable tourist destination throughout the year and not be limited to the Khareef season”. Khalid bin Abdullah Al Abri added.

The Empty Quarter Festival will take you on an unparalleled tour around one of the largest sand deserts in the world to start from December 23- January 8 2022, in the Wilayat of Thumrait in Dhofar Governorate.
