Oman’s Fak-Kurba Initiative Releases 447 Insolvent Persons

Muscat: Fak-Kurba or “Eding financial Crisis” initiative, organized by the Omani Lawyers Association, managed to release 447 insolvent persons since the beginning of the 9th edition of the initiative till now. Those released were imprisoned or were about to be imprisoned due to civil, commercial, labour and Sharia claims

Dr. Mohammed Al Zedjali, Chairman of the Association said that those release were from all governorates of the Sultanate of Oman as follows,

148 cases from South A’ Sharqiyah, 77 cases from South Al Batinah, 70 cases from North Al Batinah, 45 cases from North A’Sharqiyah, 39 cases from Al Dhahira, 30 cases from A’Dakhiliyah, 9 cases from Musandam, 5 cases from Dhofar, and. 4 cases from Al Wusta.

Al Zedjali affirmed that the execution departments in the various courts of the Sultanate of Oman are working closely with Omani Lawyers Association to achieve this humanitarian goal. He added that the efforts of individuals and institutions in giving hands to those in need are highly appreciated.
