Oman’s FM Meets Secretary-General of Netherlands Foreign Ministry

Muscat: Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister received here today Paul Huijts, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands.

The meeting came within the framework of the guest’s current visit to Muscat to hold political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries.

The meeting focused on the tragic situation in Gaza Strip. It also stressed the necessity of continuing international endeavours and pressure towards de-escalation and immediate ceasefire to ensure flow of relief and humanitarian aid.

The two sides stressed the need to refrain from targeting civilians and innocent people. They also underscored the importance of adhering to the rules of international law when addressing the conflict and ending the Israeli occupation of the occupied Palestinian territories on the basis of the two-state solution.

The meeting was attended by Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs, Munthir Mahfoudh Al Mantheri, Head of the Europe Department, Stella Kluth, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Sultanate of Oman, and officials from both sides. – ONA
