Oman’s Foreign Investors Committee holds first meeting: OCCI

Muscat: The Foreign Investors Committee of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) holds its first meeting for 2023

In a statement OCCI said: “During its first meeting this year, the Foreign Investment Committee of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry reviewed ways to improve the investment environment in the Sultanate of Oman. It also discussed the challenges facing the process of facilitating investment procedures in order to enhance the competitiveness of the Omani economy and its connection to the global economy in accordance with the goals of Oman Vision 2040.

The meeting, which was held under the chairmanship of Abdul Latif Muhyiddin Khawanji, Chairman of the Committee, discussed the challenges facing attracting local and foreign capital and raising the contribution of economic sectors to the gross domestic product.

The meeting touched on empowering the Omani private sector and foreign investors to play their role in concluding partnerships to enhance trade exchange and foreign investment, as well as encouraging cooperation between foreign investors and Omani private sector institutions in light of Oman Vision 2040.
