Oman’s foreign minister meets UK State Secretary

Muscat: Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister received here today Elizabeth Truss, Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom (UK). The two sides reviewed areas of bilateral cooperation, partnership opportunities and the investment diversity between the two countries.

They also discussed ways of enhancing and exploring more areas of economic, scientific and cultural cooperation. The two sides also touched on exchange of expertise and encouraging inter-trade, as well as military, security and energy cooperation.

At the political level, the two sides exchanged views on several current regional and international issues. The two sides stressed the two countries’ support for all peaceful efforts and endeavors, which aim at resolving disputes through dialogue, understanding and commitment to international law in a manner that consolidates pillars of security, peace and stability of the world.

This comes within the framework of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik’s visit to the United Kingdom (UK) and the visits that followed by officials from both sides.

The meeting was attended by Khalid Hashel Al Musalhi, Head of the Department of the Minister’s Office, Bill Murray, UK Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman and officials from both sides.
