Oman’s GDP at current prices up by 7.4% to RO 10 billion

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman’s gross domestic product (GDP) at current prices increased by 7.4 percent at the end of the first quarter Q1 of 2023, reaching RO 10,426,400,000, compared to RO 9,710,400,000  at the end of the first quarter of 2022, according to the preliminary dats issued by National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI)

This increase was mainly supported by the growth of non-oil activities, which increased by 6.7 percent, recording RO 7,26,300,000 at the end of the first quarter of 2023, compared to RO 6,588,100,000 at the end of the first quarter of 2022.

The total industrial activities recorded a growth of 4.6 percent, recording one billion 922 million 800 thousand Omani riyals, compared to 1 billion 839 million 100 thousand Omani riyals at the end of the first quarter of 2022.

While the activities of agriculture, forestry and fishing recorded a growth of 8.4 percent, from RO 215,700,000,000 to RO 233,900,000, and service activities recorded a growth of 7.4 percent, from RO 4,533,300,000 to reach RO 4,869,600,000.

oil activities increased by 6.1 percent, recording at the end of the first quarter of 2023, amounting to RO 3 billion 585 million and 500 thousand, compared to RO 3 billion 379 million and 700 thousand at the end of the first quarter of 2022, and crude oil activities grew by 6 percent, recording 3 One billion and 84 million and 900 thousand Omani riyals, while natural gas activities increased by 6.5 percent, recording 500 million and 600 thousand Omani riyals.
