Oman’s Ghuzayn Cooper project inaugurated today

His Excellency Eng. Salem bin Nasser Al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals, inaugurated today Thursday the Al Ghuzayn copper mining project in the Wilayat of Al-Khaboura.

The project aims to extract about 6.5 million tons of copper ore.

The mine operates with modern underground mining techniques that take into account the requirements of security, occupational safety and environmental preservation.

It is considered one of the vital projects with added economic value, as it aims to extract 6.5 million tons of copper ore with a purity of 2% over a period of 6 years.

The Ministry of Energy and Minerals seeks to attract foreign investments represented by international companies specialized in the field of minerals, which possess advanced techniques and technology, to be able to explore for the mineral resources latent in the Sultanate of Oman.
