Oman’s Health Minister Lays Foundation Stone for Dialysis Center in Sur

SUR: The foundation stone for the construction project of the Dialysis Center and Intensive Care Unit in Sur Hospital was laid Today (Wednesday) by H.E. Dr. Hilal bin Ali bin Hilal Al-Sabti, Minister of Health with funding by Al Jisr Company, in the presence of the Governor of Al Sharqiyah South and a number of members of the Shura Council in Al Sharqiyah South Governorate.

On this occasion, the Minister of Health said that establishing this center supports the efforts of the Ministry of Health to provide the best treatment services to access all Sultanate’s governorates. He added that providing this service contributes to developing the treatment services provided to dialysis patients. His Excellency stressed the role played by the Ministry of Health in operating all services for diagnosing and treating kidney diseases and dialysis by equipping them with qualified medical staff according to the latest treatment methods. He added that this center would serve dialysis patient from this governorate and reduces the burden on other similar centers providing the service.

The Minister of Health pointed out the importance of strengthening the partnership between the government and private sectors as a supporter of the development of health services in terms of the social responsibility of these institutions.

The actual operation of the center will be in three different phases. The capacity of the third and final phase will be 30 beds in the dialysis unit. In addition, a fully equipped intensive care department with basic medical supplies, including 22 beds for adults and 8 beds for pediatric intensive care unit, will be established.
